At Micro Reset Kit, your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains how we handle your data and protect your personal information.
Our Commitment
Micro Reset Kit is built with a local-first architecture. Your journal entries, transcriptions, and insights are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your personal reflections.
Data We Collect
Data stored on your device only:
- Voice recordings (temporarily, for processing)
- Transcribed text from your recordings
- AI-generated insights, moods, and highlights
- Tags and organizational data you create
- App preferences and settings
Third-Party Services
Micro Reset Kit uses OpenAI's Whisper API for speech-to-text transcription and GPT-4o-mini for generating insights. When you record an entry:
- Your audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription
- Your transcribed text is sent to OpenAI for analysis
- OpenAI processes this data according to their Privacy Policy
- We do not store your data on our servers
Data Storage
All your journal data is stored locally on your device using encrypted SQLite databases. We do not operate servers that store your personal content. Your data remains on your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.
Biometric Security
Micro Reset Kit supports Face ID and Touch ID to protect access to your journal. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's secure enclave and is never accessible to our app.
No Account Required
You can use Micro Reset Kit without creating an account. We do not collect your email address, name, or any other personal identifiers.
Data Export
You can export all your journal entries at any time in two formats:
- Markdown - Human-readable format for reading and archiving
- JSON - Structured format for data portability
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time from the Settings menu. Deleting your data removes all entries, recordings, and insights from your device. This action is irreversible.
Offline Usage
You can record journal entries while offline. Recordings will be queued and transcribed when you reconnect to the internet. You can enable on-device transcription in Settings to use the app fully offline.
Analytics
We do not collect analytics or usage data. We do not track how you use the app, what you record, or when you use it.
Children's Privacy
Micro Reset Kit is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
